March 08th 2010 - Google Streetmap Awards, Shambles, York City Centre

I was called last week by Emma Wright from Taylor Herring PR Group in London asking to meet her in York City Centre in order to photograph the Lord Mayor accepting the trophy ( a giant Google Map pin! ) for the 2010 Google Streetmap Award. The Shambles (or just 'Shambles' as I have been now told by the shop keepers on the legendary street!) won the most picturesque street in the UK this year, voted for by over 11,000 people.
