November 28th 2009 - Claire & Richard - Wentbridge House Hotel, Wentbridge, Pontefract

Another drab, rainy day... you can definitely tell the summer weather has passed! Yet again though, the grey skies didn't upset Claire or Rich! In fact, both were in high spirits (even if the nerves did kick in early on for them both!... neither bride nor groom managed to get much sleep the night before!)

I met with Claire and her Mum and two bridesmaids at her Mum's house, just around the corner from my home. The intention was to have a few glasses of bubbly before heading off to Wentbridge, where the dresses would be put on and finishing touches done. After the bridesmaids were delayed a little from the hairdressers, we head off to Wentbridge House in 3 cars... Claire's Mum's partner took the dresses, her Mum took her Gran and I .... chauffered the bride and both bridesmaids! A first for me! I'm sure they were really proud to be turning up in a lime green Mazda 2!! Not quite a Bentley, but there you go!

Rich (who plays for Hull FC if you recognise his face) had laid on a surprise for his bride to be; a Piper to play while Claire and her guests made their entrance to the ceremony.

Due to the bad weather, Claire was reluctant to step outside for any group shots at first, but soon changed her mind once the rain stopped and the ground began to dry... as long as her bridesmaids held her train up! They did a sterling job!

More photos inside the house were dealt with as quickly as ever, meaning plenty of time to do the usual reportage style photography of their friends and family having fun.

Congratulations guys! Enjoy the honeymoon! I'm sure you'll be gutted to be jetting off away from this 'lovely' weather!
